We all went to Torre Del Lago Puccini about 15 miles from Pisa.A good time was had by all, plenty of sun, sand, and great food.
How come you can go anywhere in Italy and eat great food? We ate in a number of restaurants, and didnt eat a bad meal for a week.
I now love melon and Prosciutto.

this is a question that troubles me too. We have the ingredients and the knowledge, so why can't we go anywhere and have a really great steak or fantastic pasta? And I love melon too - but ONLY with prosciutto
We do get decent ingredients, and perhaps Silvana will know far more than I do about this, but the quality of the food over there was stunning.
The pasta was all really fresh, the meat tender and perfectly cooked, and the vegetables really fresh.
Over here, we tend to overdo meals, and do too much, I like the fact that in Italy, if you order a steak, you get a plate with just a steak on it, nothing too fancy.
I want to move to Italy now.
